Most of you would agree with me that Women are not so addicted to their phone when compared to men. Some of them are very possessive about their phone and would treat it like kind of jewels. Most of the times the phone would be left in the bag without answering call on time. Nevertheless, phone is so essential nowadays that everyone would prefer to have one.
Well, I too am not so fascinated to cell phone. Once I started working, I bought a nokia phone which sometime later was replaced by another nokia phone. I travelled abroad and I got a Blackberry model for free with the cellular connection there. Even though BB was known as PDA, it was nothing more than a phone, receive and make calls, for me. Now and then I would change the font type, screen saver, ring tone.
Vivek had an iphone then and he would speak a lot on I-phone features and specifications which never bothered me much. Yet I liked exploring since it was a touch phone. My BB was almost dying then. Sometime later he bought me an I phone too and I got a nice cover with it. Vivek configured the phone for me ,updated ipod and added some applications. I started using it . I was all thrilled. My colleagues who noticed my phone would stop by at my desk. I got a special attention and I was enjoying it. I still often leave it at restroom/others’ desk/leave it on my desk and never carry it for the fear of losing it.
It was Friday .I was in the cab travelling back home. As I neared my stop , I unplugged my phone and talking to the cab mates reminding them to attend my marriage. I would be on Wedding Vacation for three weeks since then. I usually put my phone in my bag before I get down from cab. Once I got down from the cab I started looking for it and I realized that I don’t have it with me. So what do I do now? I have left it in cab for sure. And now I should try to reach someone in the cab. Phones lost in cabs are never found is a known fact. After all , who would bother to return an iphone ?I just ran towards my home as if there is some serious threat for my life. I somehow had to reach one of my cab mates. I remembered that my black berry phone had Ananths’s number, whose stop was only few kilometers from mine. I was just hoping to reach him before he gets off the cab. Unfortunately, BB had no charge. Damn it! . I then thought of my small notepad where I had written down couple of cell phone numbers .It helped me a great deal.I searched it for Ananth’s number and thankfully I found it. I actually don’t remember when I had written it down though. I called him up immediately. For my good luck, he was still in cab , found the phone . The very next day, myself and Vivek went and collected it. It indeed was a great relief.
